We at Open Interiors truly believe that good design is how a space functions. It’s about ease of use, wayfinding, comfort, lifestyle, work style, human behaviour, flexibility and experiencing life in a way that feels natural to any one individual. Our work is compatible with our beliefs. Everyone has the right to live, work and play in spaces that are healthy, safe and accessible in every way.

JULENE LYPKIE BID
I am an experienced interior designer with 9 years in the residential and commercial industry. I am very passionate about design and providing spaces that make my clients not only comfortable but calm and at ease in the spaces I design. I listen very closely to what my clients are looking for and wanting as it doesn’t matter what I want, it ONLY matters what my clients want and how the space makes them feel. I take pride in the fact that I have never had a client disappointed with their design and in most if not all cases their space/design turns out better than they ever expected.
I don’t do this line of work for me, I do it for my clients. I love making others happy and creating spaces that they truly enjoy to be in. The process of renovations, new builds or additions are extremely stressful and I try my best to take all that stress off my clients shoulders and put it on mine. I want them to enjoy the process and have that excitement from breaking ground and walls going up to continue to move in day.
In my life I worked with children and adults with exceptionalities for over 10 years. It was working with these exceptional people that my passion truly grew for Interior Design. I couldn’t believe the lack of accessibility and functionality in public buildings. Everyone, no matter their ability or disability, should be able to experience every public building and not worry about the functionality or accessibility. This frustration led me to get my degree in Interior Design and also get my registration in Interior Design by passing the National Council for Interior Design Qualification examination. The NCIDQ is not a required examination for Interior Designers but I wanted to make sure my clients know I care and I go above and beyond to make sure I am qualified to assist them with their needs.
I am a proud mother of 6 children. My kids are my first passion with Interior Design a close second. I am a foster mother and have been for 15 years. I truly want the best for people and want to help people where and when I can starting with helping children in their time of need. I am very personable, passionate and dedicated. I take on every project and design challenge as if it was my own. You should be proud and excited about your home, office and or business and that is achieved by well thought out design.
